The charmless 2011 Bourgneuf displays hints of wet dog, aged beef, plum sauce, black currants and cherries. While adequate, it lacks finesse and appeal. Drink it over the next decade.
Wine Spectator 2012 (88-91 Punkte) Fassprobe
This has a dark, slightly chewy edge for now, but the core of crushed plum, blackberry and boysenberry fruit should absorb that with cellaring. Dark ganache and graphite frame the finish, which features a racy, acidic spine. Should unfurl nicely with age. Best from 2015 through 2025. -JM

Dunkles Granat, recht satt in der Mitte, rubiner Rand. Viel fein rauchige Noten, getrocknete Alpenheidelbeeren und Lakritze, zeigt eine schöne Tiefe und auch schon etwas Trüffel. Fester Gaumen, wirkt etwas artisanal und mit mürben Tanninen bespickt. Wird immer eher etwas hart, respektive maskulin bleiben, kann aber noch zulegen. Lange dekantieren. In 10 Jahren wohl verstanden...
