Wine Advocate Monica Larner 2013 (94 Punkte) für den 2010er Jahrgang
The 2008 Tinata (Syrah, Grenache) is a super-ripe wine bursting with plums, blackberries and blueberries. This is an especially opulent wine loaded with fruit and a generous dose of French oak. Though outstanding and beautifully balanced, Tinata appears to still be a work in progress. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2023.
Monteverro is one of the most exciting young properties I have come across in a while. The vineyards are located in Capalbio, in the province of Grosseto. The estate was founded in 2003 by Georg Weber, a young Swiss man inspired by the great wines of Bordeaux. The 2008s are the first releases from Weber’s superstar team, which includes Michel Rolland and Jean Hoefliger of Alpha Omega in Napa Valley. With the exception of the Chardonnay these are all interesting wines. Prices are high for a debut vintage, but the investment required to make wines at this level is no doubt high as well.
Wine Spectator 2014 (91 Punkte)
Bright and fluid, with black currant, blackberry, vanilla and toast aromas and flavors. Almost racy, showing terrific balance and well-integrated tannins underneath. Features a fine, toasty finish. Syrah and Grenache. Best from 2016 through 2025. 622 cases made. –BS

Monteverro:
September.
