Wine Advocate Robert David Schildknecht 2011 (89 Punkte)
The Poujol Grenache-Syrah-Mourvedre 2008 Podio Alto offers sweeter fruit and considerably more polished texture than its 2009 counterpart, while preserving a bright, fresh edge such as one would expect from this relatively cool vintage. Sandalwood, salt, iodine, and black tea inflect an ample stock of dark cherry and purple plum, persisting with juicy, caressing, yet animated persistence. This ought to drink well for at least another several years.
Wine Spectator 2011 (87 Punkte)
This has fresh, juicy appeal, with raspberry jam, cherry pie and spice flavors. The ripe finish offers black olive and spice notes. Drink now through 2015. –KM
