Parker - Wine Advocate Lisa Perrotti-Brown (92 Punkte)
The 2016 Plince is a blend of 79% Merlot and 21% Cabernet Franc. It has a medium garnet-purple color and offers up scents of red and black currants, black cherries and mulberries with scorched earth, bay leaves and iron ore nuances plus a hint of violets. Medium-bodied, the palate is packed with energetic red and black fruits, textured with ripe, rounded tannins and loads of freshness, finishing on a compelling mineral note.
Wine Spectator (BT Punkte)
Vivid, with blueberry and boysenberry flavors that glide through, staying fresh and open in feel while pretty spice hints fill in on the finish. A light mineral edge gives this some persistence. Score range: 89-92
The 2016 Plince is a powerful wine. The flavors are dark and boldly sketched, with fruit and torrefaction notes that suggest a slightly roasted quality. On the palate, the 2016 feels a bit heavy and monolithic, while the tannins lack polish. It will be interesting to see how this develops in barrel.
