The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Blueprint hails from six separate sources in Napa Valley and is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot. The wine has an opaque purple color and notes of graphite, blueberry and blackberry fruit as well as touches of white chocolate, underbrush and licorice. It is medium to full-bodied, with terrific purity and a supple, fruit-forward, luscious style that is characteristic of this endearing vintage.
Vinous Antonio Galloni 2014 (94 Punkte) JG 2013
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Blueprint is one of the best versions of this Cabernet Sauvignon I have tasted. A rich, sumptuous wine, the 2013 possesses tremendous intensity. Mocha, torrefaction, smoke, new leather and dark-fleshed fruit, the 2013 captures a great balance of intensity, opulence and freshness, especially for such a big wine. Full-throttle to the core, the 2013 should drink well with minimal cellaring. Once again, Lail's Blueprint is a fabulous value.
